My name is Paula  and  I ride a Suzuki Burgman AN400,  I'm a laid back rider,  rarely speed and have no need to go to heaven  too early... so  realllllll  slow  rider  , unless I ride with a broken shoulder, broken foot  3 days  run back from Switzerland  I rather was home  than getting my travel insurance claims..  that's when I fly  like a bat out of hell..  (yep  you got it  girl biker went down)

The bike is fully kitted for long runs,  sat nav,  heated grips... oh yes  if wet that ugly apron   but  my legs  do stay  dry!!, nav  indicator buzzers, extra lights under the saddle,  top box,   pannier frames and several different size panniers  all got  indicators and brakelights fitted..  so yes.. I modded the bike a bit.. The boys  call it  my xmas tree and  the lights  got eye lashes...  Do you still want to own up knowing me? and more importantly  ride  alongside or in group with me?

I am an active member of www.maxi-touring.co.uk  but sole female riding member and yes  in the end  you rather  have female or more female companiions  less complications  or at least even numbers  of sex  .  It has made touring in the end expensive,  I have shared rooms  in the past  but to be honest  I prefer my own room  to sharing with a strange guy..  Happily married by the way and at home  I love houseplants, cats, machine embroidery  etc etc  a homebird that likes  biking.  Bicycles and mopeds  etc  are in the blood from way back as I am dutch born and raised.  I gave up motorcycling  at the age of 20  ...  had not passed my test yet  but was riding a Jawa 350cc,  at 8 months  pregnancy seemed like a good idea  to stop..  many  years  later,  bicycles, mopeds  etc... I decided that it was darned dangerous in the UK  riding an electric bicycle  so  I did my CBT must be 3 years  ago now..I took mod 1, and 2  for automatic,   and  bought my bike.  I still love it  I could ride a bigger bike now but  this one does the job. After passing the following spring I had another years of CBT left so I bought a manual  and passed my test on that.  Come  this September I can ride any size bike (I went for the slow way  .. restricted licence for  two years  to give myself experience)  Over the years  I have put on a Honda S-Wing 125,  6000 miles,  a  Yamaha  YBR 125  4000 miles , and 24000 miles on my Suzuki Burgman.

This year I shall travel a couple of times  to Holland to visit my mam  in a care home,  I got it down to a T-now..  ride down, etap in calais and then push on into holland  ..I have been  touring Scotland,  would love to do that again but not this year,  and a trip to Switzerland,  again that was just great,  this was with maxi-touring  all male members  I guess I was one of the lads..;-)   So you can see  a  fair bit of riding,  last year  did   a  bike safe  course and yesterday I took the bike out for the first time  since October,  she was stored for the winter .  It was the first time I have done this as  the salt can really get to your bikes plus my loving husband provided me with an inside Scooter Room.

I am based in South Wales between Cardiff and Swansea  in the Rhondda Valleys,  I have done Ride to the Wall, and Wootton Basset  several times, Easter Egg Charity rides  etc  Santa Rides  ..  If its  for charity  and if I am free will be pleased to join.  Hello everyone,  58 year young  female biker  looking for  others  to ride with..

Hello and welcome. Where in South Wales are you? I'm over the bridge(s) in South Gloucestershire.
Gadget Gran is a Welshie too, South Wales somewhere for her too. (Just follow the awesome art work and home cooking! )

We're a fairly small group on here, growing slowly though. This year is our second BikeGirl weekend, going Wild in The Wolds - there's links here somewhere. There's a range of bike sizes, length of riding and involvement in the site, but we're all in this together

Looking forward to hearing more from you.
