His Career:
Troy started racing in 1992 on a Kawasaki KR-1 in the
250 cc. Production Class. In 1995 he rode in the Australian
600 Championship finishing second. In 1996 the first year
in the Australian Superbike Championship riding a Kawasaki,
he finished third in the Championship, then second in
1997 riding a Suzuki. He also finished fifth in both races
of the World Superbike Championship at Phillip Island
and 6th in the 250 Grand Prix at Phillip Island. In 1998
Troy moved to England to race the British Superbike Championship
riding for the GSE Ducati INS Racing Team, finishing eighth
in the Championship then going on to win the Championship
in 1999.
For 2000 Troy started racing for the Ducati Vance & Hines
team in AMA Superbikes but then earned himself a late ride the
World Superbike Ducati InfoStrada Team. He continued to excel
and ran away with the crown in 2001 after a battle with Colin
Edwards. 2002 saw another battle with Edwards with the Texan
Tornado coming out on top this time. Both riders moved to GP
for 2003 and were still finding their feet in MotoGP 2004.
