As you probably know girls, I was supposed to have another bike delivered yesterday. When the GS500 arrived it was nothing like the advert. Was a bloody rust bucket! Everything, forks, chain and bolts were all rusted up. Good job my male friend told him to ***** and take it back to Anglesey. I am really upset, and annoyed that some people think it is ok to advertise a bike is in brilliant nick when it obviously is not.

on the upside, your mate didn't accept it and then you'd be
stuck with a pile of crap, and this guy wasted his own time
bringing it over as well.
i suppose people have different ideas as to what's good,
but there's a huge difference between something being in
brilliant nick and a pile of rust. i'd be seething too

Ask around at local bike training schools as they often sell these type of bikes on?
Recently saw this one locally (now sold) but gives you an idea...
'GS500 for sale. It's blue and in good condition, on an '05' plate. Got about 20000 miles and has been looked after as well as all our bikes. Asking £1450 ono.'
the guy selling it works for a bike school in wiltshire....worth a thought?

Calmed down a bit now. He was going to bring it on Monday night and then Tuesday evening. I think he was trying sell it me in the dark so I would'nt notice and he probably thought 'she won't know much about bikes'. Yes, I can take satisfaction in the fact that he had to take it all the way back, that will teach him! Meanwhile I will have to keep looking.

Thats really gutting that he wasted your time, you must be so dissapointed. You did the right thing in rejecting the bike though. I'm sure you'll find a better one out there.
It is infuriating when people are not honest with their adverts. I went 120 miles to view a Serow, but despite the guy saying he had the V5, I arrived to find it wasn't in his name (and he wasn't in communication with the person who's name was on the document). With a couple of other things ringing alarm bells I had to call it a wasted trip. I wouldn't have gone at all way had I known the V5 wasn't in order. It hacked me off that he hadn't told me before my wasted so much time and diesel going up there to view it.

I had a GS 500 before, it is a good power commuter bike, FYI but it has problem cold starting....
anyway, as for the rust, I had a hole in the tank, (dun think its a common occurance, but still). your seller would blame it all on the recent weather and all the salt
i rusted my bike a bit over this winter too....

Looks like we all do daft things sometime in our life. I would always take my freind with me when looking at bikes, he knows his stuff. So just waiting for another one to come my way. Thinking of getting a green house instead, and growing veg etc. OMG what am I doing!!!

Thats happened to someone we know as well.. Superficially the bike looks fine but it's only now he's started doing a few things to it that he's realised there are a few problems with the bike.. And everything is gonna cost more money to sort out properly
