2005 Update:
I will be racing in the Bemsee Minitwins and MRO Minitwins for 2005. Having enjoyed the bike and found many new friends within the series I came to the conclusion that the SV650 was not going to be replaced by a GSXR600 which would have meant another season learning a new bike.
This year i will be part of the Steve Jordan Motorcycles racing team. There is Steve my husband on an SV650 and Paul Salliss on another SV alongide myself for 2005. Our main aim is to concentrate on the Club championship and a few MRO rounds through the season.
Our testing starts at Snetterton on the 19/20th Feb which hopefully will allow us to get the bikes setup and the team working in unison before the first meeting in March.
I have also gained some sponsorship for this season. Mainly a Shoei helmet for the team riders, boots and leathers from Feridax, some ladies racing gloves from Racer, oils, lubes and sliders from the lovely Jason at Wurth and help with spares from Performance Parts and R&G..thanks! We have also bought a race truck so we can all sleep in the warm and provide hospitality for our guests and I guess many of the riders will join in for the summer evening BBQ's which are a must mid season!

Brands Hatch Indy 10th July:
Race 1: Luckily the weather was holding and the sun was still smiling at us! 34th on the grid was dissapointing but not to be put off I was set to be determined into the first corner and hopefully gain a few places. I got off to a good start and was heading towards mid pack. A few riders were running wide comming into paddock which scuppered my line, but then a gap opened up on the apex which put me onto the inside line for Druids. A fair bit of elbows and knees from a rather large guy on a naked SV650 saw me pushed back a few places. He was alot bigger than me!. Anyway I managed to get onto the back of a group of six riders. Making good progress I was gradually catching but the bike was starting to run wide round Paddock, not sure whether ride height or lines were the cause but I kept on. Someone managed to come past me into Paddock which caused me to enter the corner much deeper but it seemed to have the desired effect and the bike turned alot
quicker. Paddock is a hard corner to ride as it not only is very steep but also cambered. Anyway, last lap came and I was beginning to drop off the riders in front again. Fitness is the factor here so space booked at the gym every week from now on. Finished 29th and dissapointed.
Race 2: I seemed to spend the half hour before this race staring at the sky. Black clouds were looming and everyone was pondering whether or not to run drys or wets. I left for the holding area on the Rennsports, a tyre that everyone bar two riders chose for the race. I was not beginning to think the wets would have been better, after all I had nothing to lose. Lo and behold warm up lap it started to rain hard...right, how grippy are Rennsports in the wet? I got off the line well and passed quite a few into Paddock. I could tell everyone was feeling their way around so decided to put this race down to learning rather than trying to make up places. Lap after lap I was getting quicker and trusting the tyres more. I passed two riders into Druids on the brakes and was feeling confident. Gradually a dry line was starting to appear even though it was still raining. I then started to catch the bunch in front as a rider came steaming under me through Surtees. Matching his pace was fine until i wondered whether he was on wets or not...but it felt ok. On the last lap I caught one of the guys who's normally up front: he obviously was not liking the damp, I then passed him on the line. I came in 29th again but was pleased to have learnt so much about the tyres. Rennsports are not too bad in the damp!
Next race is at Croix in France and I have enlisted the help of a fellow SV racer and a SS400 rider to take me round. I am determined to pull it all back together for France as was not commited enough at Brands. Looking forward to it as always!

Sarah is competing in the 2004 Bemsee Minitwins championship.

" This years racing has been a steep learning curve, trying to go quicker and learn new things. I am really enjoying myself though which is what counts. I have plenty more to learn about the bike and will only do so if i keep my head down and arse up!
My best race so far this year has been the Bemsee Snetterton round. I love the circuit and felt like I could get a good flow going. Brands Indy so far has been the worst but due to Steve coming off and spending the night in hospital my head was not really in it."

What's your racing history?
I first started on a MZ250 in 1998. I had been around racing for a few years as my ex raced 250's and after watching from the sidelines one day and having a go for not passing someone he told me to either shut up or get out there. So I did. I rode a borrowed bike for 1998 and 1999. I could never thank the guy enough as it got me started and as I was on a tight budget i could never have done it without him. Even though the bikes were not state of the art it was very competitive racing. Grids of 40 riders at most meetings which included a guy that went to ride British 125GPs and an ex World Supermono rider. The bike taught me a lot: how to ride past what bikes were capable of and still
stay on and how to fix it too!
During the two seasons I had managed to race within the top 5, gained a 3rd and fastest lap of the class at Lydden and Bemsee Lady rider of the year. I then got made redundant and my dreams of riding a GP125 dissapeared.
During 2000 I was asked to ride for a 400CC endurance team at Snetterton and went on to win the 6 hour race which was a fantastic experience and one I would love to repeat. After we opened a Suzuki dealership this year I got the chance to race a SV650 in the Minitwins series with Bemsee.

How Long have you been biking?

12 years.

What inspired you to start racing?
Watching my ex racing for 3 seasons and the lack of women taking part.

Do you have a regular team of helpers or sponsors?
My husband Steve has been a major help. He inspires me when I am down, spanners on the
bike and still manages to race himself. My friend Joe (our accountant!) is very helpful and is always laughing and joking - someone who we could not cope without. I also am lucky enough to get
some help from our suppliers, Wurth, Furygan and Racer who supply my boots and gloves. Also my mum and dad who come along with somewhere comfy to sleep when its too cold to sleep in the van!

What are your plans after this season?
I shall stick with the Minitwins as they are trying to get the series at MRO next year which would be too good to miss.

What are your ambitions?
To get back to the front of the class. It's going to be hard as there are some awesome guys in our class but I shall try my best.

Who do you look up to?
My husband Steve, Valentino Rossi as he is so smooth and Zak Barry who rides in the MRO powerbikes and is spectacular to watch.

What do you do in your spare time?
Offroading during the winter, skiing when I have the funds and just chilling out.

Who's your favorite racing hunk?
Has to be Rossi..But i do have to mention that my husband Steve comes first - am sure he will read this.
