is back, long live Haga-san!!!
He's such a fighter and after a year of virtual anonmity
in MotoGP preceded by a quiet year in WSB, it's about
time he showed us that fighting spirit and got out in
front again. He won race one and was on for the double
when just 5 laps to go he started to cruise. Shabby
luck - a blown engine.
Troy Corser got the Foggy Petronas onto pole position
- he really is pole king. He had a fall in race 2 but
made it to fourth in race one.
Laconi got himself a "stop-go" penalty in
race one - which now involves riding through the pits
at 50mph (much more fair than the old stop-for-10 sec
rule. With Haga's problem in race 2 Laconi was left
clear in the lead.
Ochesleben is a track of tight turns which gets the
riders working very hard. It saw Chili off in race two
- putting too much faith in his tyres when he really
should know better.
A good solid two second places from Toseland after qualifying
a lowly eight, and a first podium for Leon Halsam in
race 2.
