BEMSEE's Ben fund received a £900 cash boost at the weekend when all-girl team Feisty Racing handed over funds it had raised from an event held at Mallory Park at the end of July.
The team, which has competitors in a lot of the club's classes, raised the money through a raffle with some very kindly donated prizes, the fabulous top prize being a fully-paid Jerez trip with hotels and bike transport donated by Focused Events.
Team manager Susie Grayson said: "Thanks to Liz for organising the raffle and Susan for forcing tickets on people during the day. Half of the money was raised through a small donation from each trackday booking at our Feisty Fiesta, held at Mallory in the summer."
The Ben Fund is used to help BMCRC and MRO members in times of need. For example, if a rider is hospitalised hundreds of miles from his hometown the Ben Fund will pay for him or her to be moved to a hospital closer to home and nearer his family.
It has been used to pay for a partner's stay in a hotel whilst a rider has been kept in hospital up to sustaining a rider's pregnant widow for several months while they come to terms with the loss of their partner. Our members raise money for the fund by organising events and collections.
If someone holds out a collection bucket or tin please give generously as one day you may need its help. If you would like to donate to the fund or organise a fund raising event then please contact tracey@bemsee.net.
